Confederate flags - flying American history

The United States has a short, but rich history. Many symbols of its struggles and growth bring pictures to your mind. The Confederate flag may be one of them. The Confederate battle flag has a diagonal blue cross, edged in white, on a red background. On the blue cross are 13 white stars. Flags such as Confederate flags were used to distinguish troops in the field from the enemy were called Battle Flags. Battle flags go back to Roman times. In the early battles of the civil war Confederate troops used the 1st National Flag, which had seven stars on a blue back ground with two red and one white stripe, but this caused confusion as it looked similar to the Union Stars and Stripes.
